Nottinghamshire County Show Photography Competition

Can YOU Capture the Essence of the Nottinghamshire County Show?

We’ve teamed up with our generous sponsor R & K Photographic to bring you an amazing Photography Competition at the Nottinghamshire County Show on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2018, at Newark Showground.

As part of the Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society’s Education Project, the idea behind our photography competition is to encourage you to think about the essence of our County Show, and to raise awareness and appreciation for the enormous amount of work our farmers do in order to produce food for our tables.

Professional photographer and exhibition curator Rob Knight from R & K Photographic is very kindly providing a FREE One Hour Practical Photography Workshop on each day of the County Show at 10:30am. Assemble at the R & K Photographic stand in the Lady Eastwood Centre.

This FREE One Hour Practical Photography Workshop will take place around the site at the Nottinghamshire County Show on both Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2018, at Newark Showground.

As a workshop participant you will explore how to get better results from any camera you chose to use, be it a fancy digital SLR or a mobile phone. Rob Knight will teach you how to tell ‘stories’ with your images, instead of taking just another boring old snap.

FREE ONE Hour Photography Workshop

Our FREE One Hour Practical Photography Workshop is for both adults and children ( *must be accompanied by an adult ) helping anyone who’d love to know how to take the best pictures they can with what ever camera they have, no matter if they use a mobile phone camera, or any kind of digital or film camera. This very practical based workshop is about how to make better images that tell stories and capture the essence of a theme or subject.

This practical workshop is about having fun with photography and using the Nottinghamshire County Show as an amazing backdrop to tell some interesting stories. The workshop is not a lecture. You will be very much hands on, out and about around the Showground with Rob Knight, your photography expert.

The images, stories and takes on the theme will be completely open to personal interpretation… It’s all about telling the story of the Nottinghamshire County Show and celebrating this.

Photography Competition 2018

As part of this amazing opportunity and experience we are holding a FUN Photography Competition where anyone can enter. * You do not have to take part in the workshop to enter the competition. Nor do you have to enter the competition if you only wish to take part in the workshop.

The competition brief is ‘Telling the Story of the Nottinghamshire County Show‘ in a series of 3-5 images. Rather than awarding a prize for a single image, the winners will be the people who tell the best visual story across their chosen 3-5 images.

The ‘winner’ in the under 17 category and the ‘over 17’ category will each receive a bespoke one to one (*children must be accompanied by a responsible adult ) Autumn photography half day workshop in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District with Rob Knight. *Dates and times will be agreed with the winners to suit.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn how to take great photographs with TWO amazing prizes!
